Penn State-Ga. State game to get prime-time treatment

Beaver Stadium will play host to at least one night game in 2017 — but it’s not necessarily one many expected.

The Nittany Lions’ Week 3 match-up (Sept. 16) against Georgia State will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network, as announced by the conference Tuesday morning. Penn State has never faced the Panthers, who moved up to the Football Bowl Subdivision classification in 2013.

Penn State fans now know half of the kickoff times on the schedule. The Nittany Lions face Pittsburgh (Sept. 9) and Ohio State (Oct. 28) at 3:30 p.m., while squaring off with Akron (Sept. 2), Northwestern (Oct. 7) and Rutgers (Nov. 11) at noon.

Of course, Penn State hosts Michigan for its annual White Out game on Oct. 21. That marquee match-up will likely be in prime time, but a kick time has not yet been announced.
