West York grad shines for N.C. State baseball team

West York High School graduate Brett Kinneman slugged a three-run homer in the seventh inning that broke the game open to help North Carolina State top Boston College 6-1 on Tuesday in the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament.

The left fielder also drove in a run in the bottom of the first to get the seventh-seeded Wolfpack (34-22) started. Kinneman then delivered the big blow to right for North Carolina State, which will face second-seeded North Carolina on Friday.

For the season, the sophomore outfielder is hitting .286 with nine homers and 38 RBIs.
