West York grad honored for soccer exploits at Temple
STAFF REPORT
West York High School graduate Nick Sarver made a good first impression playing for the Temple University men's soccer team.
The 5-foot, 10-inch freshman midfielder was named to the The Philadelphia Soccer Six All-Rookie Team on Thursday night when the organization held its annual banquet.
Sarver was a solid addition to a strong Temple back line that led the Owls to a second-consecutive 10-win season. He appeared in 11 games in 2016 with the NCAA Division I Owls, starting seven of them. He posted a season-high 94 minutes of play in a game against Columbia.
He helped Temple finish 10-6-2 overall, including an 8-0-2 home record.
The Philadelphia Soccer Six includes Temple, Villanova, Drexel, Saint Joseph's, Penn and La Salle.
