York College went on the road Wednesday night and earned a Capital Athletic Conference basketball sweep of Frostburg State.
Hot-shooting Morgan Golec collected 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists to lead the York women to a 77-72 win. The York men, meanwhile, captured an 80-66 triumph.
In the women's game, Golec finished 8 for 11 from the floor. Red Lion grad Morgan Kuehne added 17 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Spartans, while Susquehannock grad Katie Wagner added 11 points, six rebounds and four assists. Dallastown grad Katie McGowan added seven points and a team-high eight rebounds. York, which played its third straight game without injured standout Sam Hruz, improved to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the CAC. Frostburg fell to 5-9 and 3-4.
In the men's game, Blayde Reich and Matt Scamuffo had 16 points each to pace the Spartans. They got double-digit support from Brad Wesner (12) and Jason Bady (11). Central York grad Jared Wagner led York in rebounding (nine) and assists (seven), while also collecting six points. Bady added eight rebounds. York imrpoved to 9-5 overall and 4-3 in the CAC.
