The York College field hockey team suffered a setback to a powerhouse Salisbury squad on Wednesday, losing 6-2.

Salisbury came into the match ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division III by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

The Spartans (10-3 overall, 2-1 Capital Athletic Conference) surrendered the game's first four goals, all in the first half, to the Sea Gulls (10-1, 2-0 CAC).

Trailing 4-0 at halftime, Red Lion High School graduate Ali Posey scored her eighth goal of the season to open the second half to get York on the board. Sydney LaMarsh added a goal shortly after Posey's to make it 4-2. However, the Gulls scored the final two goals to put the game to rest.

The loss for the Spartans snapped a five-game winning streak.

York women's tennis team prevails over Immaculata: The York College women's tennis team earned an 8-1 win over Immaculata on Wednesday. Susquehannock grad Katie Wagner won at No. 1 singles for the Spartans, 6-2, 6-0, while Red Lion grad McKenzie Krout was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0. Wagner also teamed up with Darian Naill at No. 1 doubles to win, 8-6, and Krout teamed with Rachel Wagner at No. 2 doubles to earn an 8-0 win. Rachel Wagner, Maisie Supp and Gina Liguori also secured singles wins for York, while Carter Vaughn and Liguori teamed up at No. 3 doubles to earn a 9-7 victory. It was the final match of the Spartans' fall season. They went 3-0.

Spartans drop 1-0 result in women's soccer: The York College women's soccer team allowed a late goal against Frostburg State on Wednesday, losing a tough result, 1-0. The game's only goal was scored in the 82nd minute by the Bobcats (6-8, 3-2 CAC). The Spartans (3-9-1, 1-4) were outshot 16-7 and gave up seven corner kicks, including six in the second half. The loss was York's third in a row, all in league play.

York men's soccer team settles for draw: The York College men's soccer team and Frostburg State settled for a scoreless draw on Wednesday. The Spartans moved to 4-7-2 on the year and 1-3-1 in CAC play. York outshot the Bobcats, 22-7, including putting 12 on target.

Penn State York men's soccer team defeated: The Penn State York men's soccer team dropped a wild 5-3 result to Penn State Brandywine, which extended its winning streak to nine in a row. The loss for Penn State York (4-5 overall, 3-5 Penn State University Athletic Conference) was the team's third in a row.
