Former York-Adams standouts Myers, Harman recognized

Two former York-Adams League athletes, who are now competing for Millersville University, earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors on Thursday.

Red Lion High School graduate Amanda Myers and South Western High School graduate Erin Harman were honored.

A total of 483 individuals for 117 programs were recognized. To qualify, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.

Myers, a sophomore accounting major, scored her second career all-academic honor. She reached her second consecutive NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in the javelin, posting a personal-best throw of 157 feet, 10 inches at the event. She finished 10th in 2016, besting her 13th-place finish from 2015.

Harman, a sophomore mathematics major, is also a two-time honoree. She hit an NCAA provisional mark of 11-8 in the pole vault during the indoor season and placed third at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
