Susquehannock High School graduate Meghan Freese is about to be a Hall of Famer.
A 2000 grad of Susquehannock, Freese will be inducted into the Bucknell University Athletics Hall of Fame. She's one of six members to get inducted this fall as part of the Bison's 38th Hall of Fame class.
A swimmer for the Bison during her career from 2000-04, Freese set several school records as a freestyle sprint specialist. She broke fellow Hall of Famer Margaret Grunow's 12-year-old marks in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events. Freese also has the second-fastest time in the 100-yard back and was also part of three record-breaking relay teams during her four years at Bucknell.
She was named to three All-Patriot League teams and swept the 50 and 100 free events at the Patriot League Championship meets in 2003, as well as winning gold in three relay events. In total, she won three straight Patriot League crowns in the 50 free and won the 100 free during her junior and senior campaigns.
Bucknell is an NCAA Division I school located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
