York High grad gets PSAC recognition


York High graduate Aignee' Freeland, a senior at Edinboro University, was recently named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Women's Basketball First Team.

Freeland is now a three-time All-PSAC West selection and a two-time first-team member. She concluded a strong career by ranking sixth in the PSAC in scoring (16.3 points per game) and ninth in rebounding (7.9 per game) this season. She was third in the PSAC with 55 blocks, the 12th most in single-season history. She shot a team-best 51.1 percent from the floor (214-of-419) and 67.4 percent from the line (60-of-89). She ranked fourth on the Scots with 45 assists.

The 6-foot, 3-inch senior recorded nine double-doubles, good for fifth in the PSAC.

Freeland ranks sixth on Edinboro's all-time scoring list with 1,555 career points. She is also third all-time in career rebounds with 944.

She helped Edinboro to a 20-10 record this season.
