Suburban grad is CC Player of Year
York Suburban High School graduate Ted Hinnenkamp, a 6-foot, 7-inch senior at Dickinson College, has been named the Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year.
He was also a unanimous selection to the all-conference first team.
Hinnenkamp makes his second appearance on the All-CC squad after earning second-team honors in 2015.
Hinnenkamp capped an outstanding career with a strong senior season. Scoring 1,114 career points, Hinnenkamp set the school record with a career shooting percentage of .580. He ranks second in single-season shooting percentage, hitting 62 percent of his attempts last season. He ranks ninth in the CC in career shooting percentage. He tied for fourth on the CC list by playing in a school-record 116 games.
Hinnenkamp led the conference in scoring at 17.2 points per game and ranked fourth in rebounding with 7.7 per outing this season. He blocked a career-high 35 shots this season to rank eighth all-time at Dickinson with 71.
Hinnenkamp has been a part of some of the most successful men's basketball teams in school history. In 2014, the Red Devils advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division III Tournament, making their second straight NCAA appearance. That included a school-best 24 wins, going 24-7 that season. They matched that win total in 2015, making another appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16, finishing 24-6.
Dickinson finished 13-13 this season.
