Spring Grove High School graduate Hali Flickinger collected a pair of second-place finishes on Wednesday at the Southeastern Conference Swimming Championships at the Mizzou Aquatic Center in Columbia, Missouri.
Flickinger came in second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4 minutes, 33.90 seconds.
Flickinger's teammate at the University of Georgia, Brittany MacLean, won the event. MacLean, a senior, won the women's SEC 500 free for the second time in her career. She finished in 4:33.10. That broke her own SEC meet record of 4:34.63 set in 2014 and the pool record of 4:35.56 established Flickinger during Wednesday's prelims.
"Having Hali racing with me was a nice motivator because that's what we do in practice every day," MacLean said.
Flickinger, a senior, was also a member of Georgia's 200 free relay team that finished second in 1:28.70.
