K-D grad Tarbert gets another honor


Kennard-Dale High School graduate Sara Tarbert, a junior at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland, has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team for District 2.

The 6-foot, 1-inch Tarbert is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.


To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director.

A nursing major with a 3.42 grade-point average, Tarbert has established herself as one of the top players in the country. Starting all 21 games for the Mustangs, Tarbert is averaging 21.1 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while shooting 56.4 percent from the floor.

A four-time Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Player of the Week and two-time member of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, Tarbert ranks ninth nationally in scoring while posting 13 double-doubles.

Stevenson is 12-9 overall and 9-5 in the MAC.
