Central York High School graduate Landon Shorts has been named the Continental Volleyball Conference Men's Player of the Week.
Shorts is a 6-foot, 2-inch freshman outside hitter at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Md. He was selected for the honor after outstanding performances during his first collegiate career matches and is the first Mustang to be named this season.
During his first career match, Shorts totaled three digs, five service aces and nine kills. He achieved 16 kills and 10 blocks in his second game, while setting his career-best in kills with 18 in the third game.
In a single week, Shorts totaled two block assists, five service aces, 17 digs and 43 kills. He averaged a .472 hitting percentage on 72 attempts during the Mustangs' week.
Stevenson is 3-2 on the season and ranked No. 13 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll.
