Teenage baseball and softball are back this week in York.
With the spring high school and Atlantic League baseball seasons canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the York Revolution will use its ballpark to give high school seniors a final chance to get back on the field.
From Tuesday through Thursday, PeoplesBank Park will play host to four invitational games, with a pair of contests for each sport. Nearly 50 area athletes signed up for the event. Athletes from the Class of 2020 at York County and Adams County schools were allowed to register for the event.
The first two games played will be nine-inning baseball contests on Tuesday and Wednesday that will begin at 6 p.m.
Thursday night will feature a pair of seven-inning softball games. The doubleheader will start at 5 p.m.
All four contests will be broadcast on SportsRadio 98.9 FM and 1350 AM WOYK and live streamed on the York Revolution YouTube channel.
To comply with the state’s COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to friends and family of the players and only 250 people will be allowed
