Melky Mesa's standout season with the York Revolution has been recognized by the Atlantic League.

The outfielder was recently named to the league's Postseason All-Star Team.

In addition, second baseman Alexi Casilla and outfielder Jared Mitchell were named to the All-Defensive Team.

Both awards were based on voting from the league’s club managers and executives.

Mesa finished the 2018 season third in the Atlantic League in batting average (.337), home runs (20), runs scored (85) and total bases (221), while ranking second with 89 RBIs. He led the league with 48 extra-base hits and a .577 slugging percentage, all despite missing time early in the season with an injury.

Mesa was previously named the Revs’ 2018 Player of the Year.

Mesa's.337 average tied for third in Revs history and was the highest by a Revs batter in five years. His RBI total ranked sixth in club history and his slugging percentage ranked second in Revs history. He also became the first player in club history to lead the league in extra-base hits.

Casilla led all Atlantic League second basemen with a .983 fielding percentage, highest by a second baseman in Revs history, committing just six errors in 363 total chances. The ex-major leaguer accumulated 149 putouts and 208 assists while helping turn 57 double plays, as well as the first triple play in Revs history on Sept. 12 vs. the Road Warriors. On top of his stellar defense, Casilla finished the season fourth in the league in batting with a .336 average, fifth in Revs history. Casilla becomes the first second baseman in Revs history to be named to the league’s All-Defensive Team.

Mitchell led all Atlantic League outfielders with a .996 fielding percentage, also highest by an outfielder in Revs history, making one error in 223 chances over 116 games played defensively. He is the first outfielder in Revolution history to lead the league in fielding percentage. Mitchell logged five outfield assists along with 217 putouts.

Revs set schedule: The Revs will kick off their 2019 season on Friday, April 26, at home vs. the Long Island Ducks.

The 2019 season will feature 70 home games, including 11 games against the High Point Rockers, the newest addition to the Atlantic League. The Rockers will play in the league’s Liberty Division. The Rockers will first visit York on Thursday, May 9, and play the Revs 21 times in 2019.

The 2019 season will also mark the return of the Atlantic League All-Star Game to York. The Revs, which first hosted the midsummer classic in 2011, will present the 2019 All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 10.

The Revs will start their season at home and be in PeoplesBank Park for 23 of their first 37 games. The home schedule will feature 33 weekend games, eight Mondays, 10 Tuesdays, 10 Wednesdays and nine Thursdays. The team will be on the road for 70 games.

The coming season will mark the latest chapter in the “War of the Roses,” the Revolution’s ongoing rivalry with the Lancaster Barnstormers. The Revs will welcome the 'Stormers to the White Rose City nine times in 2019 and travel to the Red Rose City 10 times, with the team with the best head-to-head record claiming the Community Cup.

The 2019 Atlantic League schedule is divided into two 70-game halves, with the first half ending on Saturday, July 7, and the regular season ending on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Both Division Championship Series match-ups will take place the week of Sept. 22, with the Atlantic League Championship Series occurring the week of Sept. 29.
