York Revolution officials have crunched some figures and announced Thursday that an attendance milestone is on the horizon.

According to the team, the 3 millionth fan to attend a Revs game will enter PeoplesBank Park on Thursday, Aug. 23.

To mark the event, the 12-year-old club will turn the evening into a game-long celebration, beginning with prize cards that will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans in attendance. The cards will feature stickers for prizes, including discounts at the First Capital Federal Credit Union Team Store, 333 Revolution hats, behind-the-scenes tours, skybox suite tickets, replica jerseys and “Ultimate Family Fun Pack” ticket packs.

After gates open at 5:30 p.m., one fan will be identified as the 3 millionth fan to attend a Revs game. That fans will throw out a first pitch, serve as honorary captain and tell the Revolution and visiting Lancaster Barnstormers to “play ball” that night. That fan will also receive a Revolution jersey, a bat signed by the team and two 2019 season tickets.

Fans attending the celebration will also have the chance to win 3 million pennies ($30,000) in a special version of the Shipley Energy Grand Slam Inning. During that inning, a fan’s name is selected to win the cash prize if the Revs hit a grand slam in the designated inning.

Tickets for the evening’s game will be $3 off when fans order with the promo code “3Million.” The ballpark’s beer portables will feature $3 Coors Light cans for three hours, the concession stands will offer $3 jumbo Hatfield hot dogs and Revolution staffers will hurl dozens of additional prizes into the seating bowl during the third inning.

“This is a celebration made possible by our fans, so we are going to make the night all about the people who got us to this very impressive milestone,” said Revs president Eric Menzer said in a news release. “As proud as we are of our three (Atlantic League) championships, the support of 3 million customers over these years means that much more to us, so we are really looking forward to marking this historic occasion.”

Tickets for the game are available at www.yorkrevolution.com, the ticket office at PeoplesBank Park and by calling (717) 801-4487.
