It was not a Sunday to remember for the York Revolution.

The Revs got swept in a doubleheader at PeoplesBank Park by the Sugar Land Skeeters. The twinbill had an announced crowd of 2,279 fans.

York pitchers got pounded for 18 hits in the opening 12-2 loss.

The second game was delayed for 2 1/2 hours after the first inning by rain. The Revs eventually suffered a 5-1 setback that was shortened to five innings because of even more rain.

York fell to 6-7 in the Atlantic League Freedom Division second-half race, while first-place Sugar Land improved to 9-4. The Revs now trail the Skeeters by three games.

In the opener, York used five pitchers and they all gave up at least one earned run. Starter Mitch Atkins (7-4) took the loss, allowing four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. His ERA rose to 4.41.

Welington Dotel had three of York's seven hits in the opener, while Alexi Casilla added two hits. Dotel had an RBI, while Casilla scored a run. Both Casilla and Dotel doubled.

In the second game, York had just one hit, a triple by Casilla.

Jailen Peguera (2-3) took the loss in relief, allowing two earned runs in one inning of work.
