The York Revolution bullpen imploded over two disastrous innings on Sunday.
When the dust cleared, the Revs allowed a 6-1 lead after 5 1/2 innings to disappear in an 11-6 Atlantic League loss to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in Waldorf, Maryland.
York's bullpen gave up four runs in the sixth and six runs in the seventh.
That wasted a fine effort by Revs starter Dominic Severino, who allowed one earned run over five innings.
Tyler Cravy (one-third of an inning, four runs), Jailen Peguero (two-thirds of an inning, three runs) and Ricardo Gomez (one inning, three runs) each struggled mightily in relief, allowing a five-run lead to turn into a five-run deficit.
Welington Dotel (two hits, RBI, run) and Tyler Clark (two hits, triple, two runs) led York's offense.
The loss dropped York to 22-23. The Revs trail first-place Lancaster (30-15) in the Atlantic League Freedom Division first-half race by eight games.
York next plays host to the Road Warriors for a four-game series starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday. That is the beginning of a seven-game home stand.
