Zac Grotz delivered just the kind of performance that the York Revolution desperately needed.

Grotz threw a six-hit shutout on Thursday to help the Revs earn a 7-0 victory at Clipper Magazine Stadium and salvage the final game of a three-game series against the rival Lancaster Barnstormers.

Grotz struck out nine and walked one. He lowered his ERA to 0.43 for the season.

York improved to 11-11 on the season, while the Barnstormers fell to 18-6. The win got York within six games of first-place Lancaster in the Atlantic League Freedom Division first-half race. York had lost the first two games of the series (4-3 in 12 innings on Wednesday and 7-1 on Tuesday). A third straight loss would've dropped York eight games in back of Lancaster.

Rubi Silva paced York's offense, going 4 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. Tyler Clark (two hits, homer, three RBIs, run scored), Ryan Dent (two hits, homer, two runs scored, RBI), Melky Mesa (two hits, run scored) and Welington Dotel (two hits, RBI) led York's 14-hit attack.

The Revs now return to York for a six-game home stand, starting with a three-game set vs. the Road Warriors. The opener of that series is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday at PeoplesBank Park.
