York Revolution's four-game skid comes to halt with win over Lancaster Barnstormers


The skid has come to a halt for the York Revolution.

After opening the season with a promising 4-1 start, the defending Atlantic League champions stumbled to a four-game losing streak.

That slump ended Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 triumph over the Lancaster Barnstormers at Clipper Magazine Stadium in front of 4,286 fans. The win allowed York to salvage the final game in a three-game series against rival Lancaster.

York's Jay Gause (2-0) pitched five, two-hit, shutout innings to get the win. He struck out six and lowered his ERA to 1.92.

Robert Carson added two shutout innings of relief, while Jacob Ezell and Ricardo Gomez each added one shutout inning of relief. York pitchers surrendered four hits while striking out 11.

Jared Mitchell led York's offense, going 2 for 4, including a double, with two RBIs and a run scored. Rubi Silva tripled and scored a run for York, while Travis Witherspoon added an RBI.

York has off Monday before traveling to Southern Maryland for a two-game set starting Tuesday night.
