Locals who auditioned during the York Revolution Fan Fest sing the National Anthem.
The York Revolution’s 2018 Fan Fest is set for Saturday, April 21, at PeoplesBank Park in downtown York.
The highlight of the day is an exhibition game pitting players from the local Susquehanna and Central leagues against the Revs at 2 p.m.
The day starts with an audition for would-be national anthem singers from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Then, at 12:30 p.m., there will be a variety of games and on-field activities for fans. Revolution players and coaches will also be available for autographs, photos and more.
“Baseball officially starts on opening day, but for fans — including us on the staff — the season really kicks off at Fan Fest,” said Revolution president Eric Menzer in a news release. “We are thrilled to be that much closer to defending our (Atlantic League) title and welcoming back the best fans in professional baseball. We know they are as hungry as we are for baseball, so we’ve packed a day full of baseball fun into this year’s event.”
After the game, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free "Revs Time" yard sign presented by Shipley Energy. Homeowners who post pictures of their signs on display on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #RevsTime will be entered to win a free year of electricity from Shipley Energy.
Admission is $5 per person. The event is free for full-season ticket holders and $3 for mini-plan ticket holders. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, March 21. Gates will open to the public at 11 a.m., and PeoplesBank Park will host a special game between York and Hanover Little League teams at 11:30 a.m.
