York pulls out win vs. Bridgeport in 11th inning
Brandon Chaves belted an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning on Thursday night to lift the York Revolution to a wild 8-7 Atlantic League triumph over the Bluefish in Bridgeport.
Chaves' clutch hit drove in Bryan Pounds, who had doubled to start the inning.
Joel Guzman (three hits, RBI), Isaias Tejeda (two hits, two RBIs), Michael Rockett (two hits, two runs), Pounds (two hits, RBI, run) and Chaves (two hits, two RBIs, run) paced the Revolution's 14-hit attack.
Michael Click (5-3) got the win with a scoreless 10th inning, while Mike DeMark got his 32nd save with a scoreless 11th. DeMark lowered his ERA to 0.82.
York starter Micah Owings pitched six innings and allowed four earned runs.
The win allowed York (69-53, 29-23) to salvage a split in the four-game series.
Tejeda extended his hitting streak to 27 straight games.
York will now return home for a series against Somerset. Game time for Friday's game at PeoplesBank Park is 6:30 p.m.
