Revs take down Barnstormers in extra innings

Sometimes, you just have to wait a little bit longer than expected to get what you want.

That was the case for the York Revolution on Wednesday night in Lancaster. York blew a chance at victory in the bottom of the ninth inning before claiming a 10-4 victory in 13 innings.

York was the beneficiary of six unearned runs on three errors in the 13th inning, and the victory pulls York withing 2.5 games of first-place Lancaster in the Freedom Division second-half standings.

The Revs were able to pound out a season-high 19 hits during a club-record 66 plate appearances.

The Revs carried a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth before Lancaster's Kevin Rivers homered off York's Mike DeMark to force the game into extra innings.

York opens a four-game series with the Somerset Patriots on Thursday.
