First baby born at York Hospital on Friday will get Revolution season tickets for life
Any York area mothers who are expected to give birth sometime in the near future should know one thing — you're now in a race against time, and any other expectant local mothers.
That's because on Monday, the York Revolution announced, in a new, quirky promotion, that the first baby born at York Hospital after midnight on Friday, April 24, will receive a free Revolution season ticket for life.
York opens up its 2015 season at 6:30 Friday night against the Long Island Ducks at Santander Stadium.
"Anyone born on opening day is destined to be a Revolution fan for life," team president Eric Menzer said in the club's news release. "It's only fair that the first baby out on April 24 also becomes our guest for life. The parents who began the 'family planning process' back in July leading up to this day were wise to do so."
Even though there can only be one season-ticket-for-life winner, York also announced that any baby born on opening weekend, April 24-26, will receive a free onesie, courtesy of the team. On the front, it will read "Special Delivery," while on the back it will proclaim the infant's commitment to the organization since Day 1, reading "Youngest Revs Fan."
Parents of any babies born this weekend will also receive two complimentary tickets to a Revs game of their choice during the 2015 season.
"With around 3,000 births a year, WellSpan York Hospital is a great source of future York Revolution fans," Keith Noll, president of WellSpan York Hospital and senior vice president, WellSpan, said in the news release. "There should be plenty of competition for the first baby born on Opening Day."
