Mother Nature wasn't kind to the baseball playoff championship series in the Susquehanna and Central leagues on Tuesday night.

Game 2 of the best-of-three Central finals between Jefferson and regular-season champion Stoverstown was rained out completely and rescheduled for 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Stoverstown. Jefferson leads that series, 1-0, and could win the championship with a victory on Wednesday.

The Susquehanna League had a little more luck with its game. Hallam jumped out to a 6-0 lead on regular-season champion East Prospect in Game 1 of their best-of-five finals before the rains halted things after five innings.

That game will be resumed at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at East Prospect. When that game is finished, it will be immediately followed by Game 3 of the series. Game 2 of the series is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Thursday at Jacobus because Hallam's field is unavailable.

In Tuesday's action, veteran Hallam pitcher Brian Crumbling hurled five innings of three-hit shutout ball. Joe Pietrobone (two hits, homer, two RBIs, run), Angel Matias (double, two RBIs), Matt Ruth (two runs), Xavier Bonilla (two runs, two walks, RBI) and Alex Tucci double, RBI) led the Hallam attack.

Ryky Smith had two of Prospect's three hits off Crumbling.
