LOCAL BASEBALL: Clint Bohn gets both wins on mound to help Pleasureville sweep Dillsburg

  • Pleasureville earned 3-2 and 8-5 baseball wins over Dillsburg on Sunday.
  • Clint Bohn got credit for both victories in relief for the Hawks.
  • In eight combined innings, Bohn gave up just one earned run.

Pleasureville swept to pair of victories over Dillsburg on Sunday in Central League baseball action, 3-2 and 8-5.


Clint Bohn got the wins in both games.

In the 3-2 win, Bohn pitched two shutout innings of relief. Beau Burris started the game, allowing two runs over five innings.

Pleasureville plated single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to erase a 2-1 Dillsburg lead.

Tyler Wagner (three hits, double, two RBIs, run) and Bohn (two doubles) led the Hawks' offense. The Dillsburg hitting leaders were Toby Sponseller (two hits, run), Jeremy Gilbert (two hits) and Jared Rahn (two hits, double).

In Pleasureville's 8-5 win, Bohn pitched six innings of relief, allowing one earned run.

The Hawks were led by Devin Dellinger (three hits, RBI, run), Ben Reed (three hits, two runs), Matt Meyer (two RBIs, double, two runs), Burris (two hits, run), Scott Ream (two hits, double, RBI, run), Bohn (two hits, two RBIs) and Alex Myers (two hits, RBI).

Dillsburg's hitting leaders were Clayton Haak (two hits, two runs), Rahn (two hits, two RBIs) and Brandon Smith (two hits).



Stoverstown 8, Jefferson 0: At Stovertown, Kyle Raubenstine and Chris Mattison combined on a three-hit shutout.

Raubenstine pitched six full innings, allowing two hits with three strikeouts and zero walks to get the win. Mattison pitched the final inning.

Zach Schuler (three hits, double, two runs), Mattison (three hits, double, RBI, two runs), Austin Botts (two hits, two runs), Levi Krause (two hits, two RBIs) and Jake Hockensmith (three RBIs) paced the Tigers' offense.

Stoverstown, the Central League regular-season champion, improved to 26-4-1.

Glen Rock 2, Mount Wolf 1: At Glen Rock, Scott Merkle led the home team to the victory by going 2 for 3 and scoring both runs.

Also for Glen Rock, Trevor Walzl picked up both RBIs, while starting pitcher Alexander Coombs threw five shutout innings, while striking out three and walking two to record the win.

For Mount Wolf, Dan Westfall went 3 for 3 with one RBI, while Josh Rich and Jesse Sargen each had one double.

Glen Rock improved to 19-10-1.

Jefferson 7, Dover 2: Jefferson plated four runs in the top of the fifth to take a commanding lead.

Austin Dellinger led Jefferson with a triple and a double, to go with three RBIs and two runs scored. Also for Jefferson, Tyler Troxel had two hits, including a double, with two RBIs; Sam Crater had two hits with two RBIs; and starting pitcher Andrew Cieslinski threw a complete game, striking out 10 and walking four.

For Dover, Brad Smith had two hits, including a double, and collected two RBIs, while Chris Keefer doubled.  



York Township 8, Conrads 7: At Jacobus, in the completion of a suspended game, Township plated a run in the top of the seventh to grab the win.

The winning run scored on a bases-loaded walk to Matt Attig, who finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two walks. Tyler Page (two hits, homer, RBI, run), Derek Pitzer (homer, two walks, RBI, two runs) and Micah Striebig (two hits, run) also excelled for Township, which was helped by 10 walks allowed by Conrads' pitchers.

Conrads was led by Nolan Boushell (three hits, RBI, two runs), Neco Nelasco (two doubles, two RBIs, run), Kevin Keesey (two hits, double, RBI, run), Spencer Butz (two hits, double, run) and Rick Thompson (homer, two RBIs, run).

Pitzer got the win in relief, pitching two-thirds of an inning without allowing a run.

Stewartstown 15, Windsor 3: At Stewartstown, James Klingerman led the home team by belting a grand slam and scoring two runs.

Also for Stewartstown, Jere Preston had three hits, including two doubles, with three runs scored; Jason Mitchell had three hits, including a double, with three RBIs and two runs scored; Marcus Stevenson had three hits, with a double and one run scored; Justin Sommer had two hits, including a homer, with four RBIs; Cody Brittain had two hits, with a double and two runs scored; and Ryan McMillan had two hits, two runs scored, one RBI and two walks.

Cody Brittain also started the game on the mound, throwing four shutout innings, striking out nine, walking one and allowing one hit to record the win.

For Windsor, Mark Shoff connected for a homer and collected three RBIs, while Matt Robinson doubled. 

Jacobus 4, York Township 2: At Jacobus, starting pitcher Justin Kilpatrick led the home team to the victory by throwing six innings, striking out six and walking two.

Also for Jacobus, Brian Crimmel had three hits, with one run scored and one RBI; Mike Austin had three hits and one RBI; and Cody Somerville had two hits, including a double, with one RBI.

For Township, Michah Striebig had two hits and one run scored, Brad Church had a double and two RBIs and Matthew Attig had a double and one run scored.  

Stewartstown 13, Jacobus 0: At Jacobus, Jesse Brittain led the visitors to the victory by belting a homer, a triple and a double, to go with four RBIs and three runs scored.

Also for Stewartstown, Cody Brittain had three hits, including a homer, with three runs scored and one RBI; Justin Sommer had a homer and a double with two RBIs and one run scored; Jere Preston had two hits, including a double, with one run scored; James Klingerman had two hits, two RBIs and one run scored; Marcus Stevenson had two hits, one run scored and one RBI; and starting pitcher Blake Kendrick threw six shutout innings, striking out three, walking one and allowing four singles to record the win.
