First-place Stoverstown continued a dominant Central League baseball season on Sunday with an 8-0 triumph at Pleasureville.
The Tigers improved to 14-1-1. They are the only Central League team with a winning record.
Anthony Lippy and Chris Mattison combined on a two-hit shutout for Stoverstown. Lippy improved to 4-0 on the season. He started and went five innings, striking out seven. Mattison went the final two innings, striking out four and allowing no hits.
Mattison also doubled twice at the plate and scored two runs.
Ryan Kehr (two hits, two runs scored, RBI), Daryl Harang (two hits, two RBIs), Austin Botts (two hits, RBI), Zach Schuler (two hits inluding a double), Levi Krause (double, two RBIs) and Joe Capobianco (double) also excelled at the plate for Stoverstown.
Dillsburg 5, Manchester 1: At Manchester, Dillon Heatwole pitchted a complete-game five-hitter, striking out four and walking six to get the win.
Michael Houseal pitched a complete-game seven-hitter for Manchester and didn't allow an earned run, but took the loss. He struck out four and walked one.
Manchester committed five errors.
Logan Allison had two hits and an RBI for Manchester.
Jefferson 6, Mount Wolf 5: At Jefferson, the home team walked off with the win in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring the winning run on a two-out error.
Steve Gentile III led Jefferson with two hits, three RBIs and a run scored. Derek Sheckard added two hits and a run scored for Jefferson, while Kurt Seiders doubled and scored a run.
Jeremy Sabathne pitched a complete game to get the win. Mark Burnside also went the distance for Mount Wolf, allowing four earned runs, but took the loss.
The Wolves' offense was paced by Colby Smith (two hits, RBI, run), Brayden Lackey (two hits), Dan Westfall (homer, two RBIs, run) and Grant Hoover (double, two runs).
