LOCAL BASEBALL: Dover beats Shiloh to improve to 5-0 in York-Adams American Legion action

Dover continued its torrid start to the York-Adams American Legion season on Wednesday with a 7-2 triumph at Shiloh.
Post 791 improved to 5-0 and has now outscored its opposition, 40-9. Dover leads the West Division.
Andrew Chronister got the win, going six innings and allowing one earned run while striking out four. Nathan Ifkovits pitched a scoreless seventh.
Andrew Chronister also excelled at the plate, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Nathan Chronister added two hits, including a double, with an RBI and a run scored. Brayden Smith doubled with two RBIs and a run scored, while walking twice.
Shiloh (2-2) got two hits and a run scored from Justin Wetzel and a double with two runs scored from Corey Wise.
Pleasureville 7, Red Lion 2: Ben Peterson pitched five innings of shutout relief to get the win.
Nick Myers led Pleasureville's offense with four hits (including three doubles), four runs scored and two RBIs. Ryan Pepler (two hits, two runs) also excelled for the winners, who improved to 4-1..
Sean Glatfelter (two hits, two RBIs) and Adam Naylor (two hits, run) led Red Lion.
Dallastown 15, Suburban York 4 (5 innings): At Suburban York, Pete Capobianco led the visitors by going 3 for 3, including a double, with three runs scored and two RBIs.
Also for Dallastown, Darren Sciortino went 2 for 3 with four RBIs and two runs scored; Chase Hoecke went 1 for 2 with three RBIs and two runs scored; and Cole Bankert went 1 for 2 with three runs scored.
For Suburban, Spencer Butz and Cam Feeser each doubled.
New Oxford 2, Spring Grove 0: At New Oxford, Logan Strausbaugh led the home team by throwing a shutout, striking out six and walking one.
Teammate Peyton Megonnell went 2 for 3, including a double, with one RBI.
For Spring Grove, Ethan Zorbaugh went 3 for 3.
Dillsburg 6, Mount Wolf 5: At Mount Wolf, Dillsburg rallied from a 5-2 hole with two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
It was Dillsburg's first win of the season after eight losses. Mount Wolf fell to 5-4.
Toby Sponseller (three hits, homer, two RBIs, two runs), Jamison Heisey (two RBIs) and William Foster (three runs, RBI) led the winners. Dakota Pentz got the win with three shutout innings of relief.
Mount Wolf was paced by Brayden Lackey (two hits, two RBIs), Jimmy Losh (two hits) and Josh Rich (double, two RBIs, run).
Vikings 4, Manchester 2: At Manchester, Dillon Schwartzer led the visitors to the victory by going 2 for 4, including a solo homer in the top of the fifth.
Also for Vikings, Jerrin Toomey went 2 for 4, Anthony Kahley doubled and Tyler Fisher threw a complete game, striking out four and walking four.
For Manchester, Jonah Latshaw went 2 for 4.
Stewartstown 5, Windsor 2: At Windsor, Cody Brittain led the visitors to the victory by throwing a complete game, striking out 10 and walking two.
Brittain also connected at the plate by going 2 for 4, including a homer, with two RBIs. Also for the Vets, Jere Preston went 2 for 3 with two runs scored, while Bubba Jacobs went 2 for 4, including a double, with one RBI.
For Windsor, Collin Slenker went 2 for 3, while Chris Liggett, Zach Gettys and Shawn Wilson each went 2 for 4.
