Anthony Lippy's shutout effort helps Stoverstown ruin Dover's return to Central League
Anthony Lippy pitched a shutout to lead Stoverstown to a 2-0 Central League baseball win over Dover on Tuesday evening.
Lippy struck out seven and walked three.
Stoverstown plated both runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a scoreless tie when Joe Capobianco scored from third on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Austin Botts, and an insurance run was plated when Jake Hockensmith came home on a sacrifice fly from Zach Schuler.
For Dover, Colby Shimmel threw a complete game, striking out 11 and walking two. It was Dover's first game back in the Central League after a one-year hiatus.
