Dallastown's Alex Weakland, Morgan Smith combine on no-hitter in win vs. South Western

Alex Weakland and Morgan Smith combined on a no-hitter on Friday in Dallastown's 6-0 York-Adams Division I baseball triumph over South Western.

Weakland went five innings, striking out six and walking three. Smith finished up the final two innings, striking out three without a walk.

The Wildcats had just five hits, including two from Ben Writer, who drove in a run and scored a run. One of Writer's hits was a double. Darren Sciortino also doubled for the Wildcats, scoring two runs and driving in a run.

Dallastown is the defending York-Adams League and District 3 Class 6-A champion.

They followed up Friday's win with a 4-3 nonleague victory over Lower Dauphin to improve to 4-0 overall. Chase Hoecke had all three of Dallastown's hits in that game, inclduing a double, and had two RBIs.

The Wildcats have outscored their opposition, 25-4. Dallastown pitchers have allowed just 10 hits on the season.
