Jacobus and visiting Red Lion split a Susquehanna League doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, July 30.
The visitors captured the first game, 5-1. Starting pitcher Kent Walker and relief pitcher Alex Zelger led the visitors by combining to allow four hits, two walks and no earned runs. Also for Red Lion, Mike Godfrey went 2 for 3, including a double, with two RBIs and one run scored; Bren Taylor went 3 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI; Zelger went 2 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI; and Tommy Taylor went 2 for 2 with one RBI. For Jacobus, Kerry Clark doubled.
In the second game, Jacobus struck back, capturing a 9-0 victory. Drew Kelley led the offense, going 3 for 4, including a homer, with two runs scored and two RBIs. Also for Jacobus, Clark had a homer and a double with three RBIs and two runs scored, Mike Austin went 1 for 2 with three RBIs and one run scored, Riley Hamberger doubled and starting pitcher Michael Carr threw five innings, striking out six and walking two, while allowing three hits. Hamberger pitched the final two innings, striking out two and walking one. For Red Lion, Zelger doubled.
Jacobus is now 21-10, while Red Lion is 15-16.
Conrads 4, Felton 0:At Conrads, starting pitcher Josh Knaub led the home team by throwing a shutout, striking out seven and walking one. Also for Conrads, Brad Church doubled with one RBI, Rick Thompson also doubled and Joe Yourgal added two RBIs. For Felton, Evan Paules went 2 for 3. Conrads plated all four runs in the bottom of the third.
Windsor 6, York Township 5:At Windsor, the home team plated five of its six runs in the bottom of the first. Cole Delp led the Cardinals by going 2 for 3, including a homer, with two runs scored and one RBI. Also for Windsor, Chris Liggett went 2 for 3 with a double and one run scored, Matt Robinson went 2 for 3 with one run scored and one RBI and Zach Harrison went 1 for 2 with one RBI. For Township, D.J. Reed went 2 for 3 with one run scored, Maxwell Nail went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Andy Freeburger went 2 for 4 and Austin Martinez went 1-1 with two runs scored.
Stoverstown 11, Dillsburg 7: At Stoverstown, Zach Schuler led the home team to the victory by going 3 for 4 with four RBIs, two runs scored and one stolen base. Also for Stoverstown, Nick Spangler hit a three-run homer in the fifth, while Austin Rickrode went 2 for 4 with one run scored. For Dillsburg, Tyler Gerber went 2 for 3 with five RBIs. First-place Stoverstown improved to 21-8.
