CENTRAL LEAGUE: Jefferson walks off with victory

  • Jefferson's Jordan Higgins had two hits, including a solo homer.
  • Jefferson's Brian Bossom threw a complete game to get the win.

Jhiraldy Garabito hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Jefferson to a 5-4 Central League baseball victory over visiting Glen Rock.

Garabito's hit plated Jordan Higgins, who walked to start the inning.

Jefferson's Jordan Higgins is hitting .413 with 18 RBIs this season.

Higgins finished 2 for 3, including a solo homer in the fifth. Also for Jefferson, Jordan Witmer doubled, while Brian Bossom threw a complete game, striking out six and walking one.

For Glen Rock, Scott Merkel went 2 for 3, while Casey Hood and Connor Hood each went 2 for 4. Alex Coombs also doubled.

Jefferson improved to 18-6-3, while Glen Rock fell to 15-12-0.

Shiloh 3, Dillsburg 1: At Dillsburg, Joe Prego led the visitors by throwing 6 2/3 innings, striking out five and walking one to pick up the win. Also for Shiloh, Jesse Bortner went 2 for 3 with one RBI, while Cole Bixler went 2 for 3. For Dillsburg, Jared Rahn went 3 for 4, while teammate Justin Tate went 2 for 4. Shiloh trailed 1-0 after five, but plated the tying run in the sixth and two go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh. Shiloh improved to 9-17-2.
