York Catholic's Brenden Kennedy has been chosen to compete in the Big 26 Baseball Classic Border Klash this weekend.
The 6-foot, 1-inch 175-pound Kennedy will be a senior right-handed pitcher this upcoming season for the Fighting Irish.
Kennedy will be a member of the Pennsylvania team that will take on a team of Maryland all-stars at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland. That is the home facility for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League. That is the same independent minor league that the York Revolution competes in.
There is a game scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Friday. Saturday will feature a player showcase for coaches and scouts at 1 p.m., followed by the second game of the series at 4:15 p.m.
The third-and-final game of the series is 1 p.m. Sunday.
