BASEBALL: Central-Susquehanna All-Star Game is Saturday

  • The 2016 Central League-Susquehanna League All-Star Game will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hallam.

The 2016 Central League vs. Susquehanna League All-Star Game will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hallam.

Jacobus' Jed Larkin will manage the Susquehanna League team. His staff will include Dale Neff (Jacobus), Mark Toomey (East Prospect), Mike Zelger (Red Lion) and Nate Neff (Windsor).

Starting for the Susquehanna League team will be: first baseman Rick Thompson (Conrads), second baseman Alex Zelger (Red Lion), third baseman Dalton Renn (Hallam), shortstop Anthony Ferrell (Jacobus), catcher Joel Buchko (Jacobus), outfielders Tanner Forry (East Prospect), Cody Brittain (Stewartstown) and Jere Preston (Stewartstown) and designated hitter Dave Loban (Stewartstown).

A starting pitcher was not named. 

The roster for the Central League team was not provided.

The Susquehanna League backups are: first baseman Angel Matias (Hallam), second baseman Ryky Smith (East Prospect), shortstop Marcus Stevenson (Stewartstown), catcher Camden Gipe (Windsor), outfielders Craig Martin (Stewartstown), Micah Striebig (York Township) and Tyler Taylor (Red Lion) and designated hitter Cole Delp (Windsor).

The Susquehanna pitchers are: Josh Knaub (Conrads), Randy Stewart (Conrads), Bobby Gaston (East Prospect), Mike Androconis (East Prospect), Hunter McVey (East Prospect), Terry Godfrey (East Prospect), Alex Tucci (Hallam), Colby Shimmel (Hallam), James Guisseppe (York Township), Jay Dimler (York Township), Brett Houseal (East Prospect) and Briar Lauer (Jacobus).

The other Susquehanna reserves are: Luke Howard (Felton, OF) and Chris Liggitt (Windsor, OF).

LEAGUE GAME

Conrads 11, Red Lion 5: At Red Lion, Conrads scored nine runs in the third inning to build an insurmountable. Chad Kennel picked up the win on the mound for Conrads (11-14) and Alex Zelger took the loss for Red Lion (16-8).

CENTRAL

LEAGUE GAME

Dover 2, Shiloh 1: At Shiloh, Mitch Slater's RBI single in the top of the fourth scored Cody Glass for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run. Slater finished 2 for 3. Also for Dover, Devin Dellinger went 2 for 4 and Austin Rickrode went 2 for 3. Dover pitcher Mike Moore threw a complete game, striking out two and walking one. For Shiloh, Jerrin Toomey went 2 for 4, Chase James doubled and Joe Prego threw a complete game, striking out five and walking none.
