Red Lion enjoyed a pair wild and close baseball victories on the Fourth of July.
Red Lion downed visiting Felton on Monday morning, 10-9, before going on the road to beat Jacobus in the afternoon, 11-9, in Susquehanna League action.
Red Lion improved to 11-7 on the season.
In the afternoon win at Jacobus, Tyler Taylor led the visitors by hitting a go-head three-run double in the sixth and also connecting for a two-run homer. He collected a total of five RBIs on the day.
For Jacobus, Joel Buchko had a three-run homer in the fourth.
No details were reported on Red Lion's morning win over Felton, which fell to 2-19.
Red Lion was the only Susquehanna League team to manage a sweep of its games on Monday.
Jacobus did earn a split on the day by beating visiting York Township in morning, 4-2.
Riley Hamberger led Jacobus to its win by hitting a go-head two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie. Hamberger also threw a complete game on the mound to pick up the win.
Jacobus is 15-6 on the season, while Township is 9-15.
Township also lost its afternoon game to visiting Hallam, 5-0. No other details were reported on that game. First-place Hallam moved to 20-3.
East Prospect 8, Stewartstown 5: At East Prospect, the home team plated six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 8-1 lead and never looked back. Ben Achenbach led the offense, going 2 for 3 with one run and one RBI. Also for Prospect, Dan Marano went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored, Matt Shatto homered and Bobby Gaston threw six-plus innings on the mound, striking out 11 and walking four to pick up the win. For Stewartstown, Bryar Robinson went 2 for 2 with two runs scored, while teammate Cody Brittain homered to go with three runs scored and one RBI. Second-place East Prospect is 17-6. Stewartstown is 9-13.
Conrads 4, East Prospect 3: At Conrads, the home team plated the go-head in the bottom of the seventh, breaking a 3-3 tie and taking a walk-off victory. Brandon Miller led the home team, by going 2 for 3 at the plate with one RBI, while throwing a complete game on the mound, striking out three, walking three and allowing two earned runs. Also for Conrads, Rick Thompson went 3 for 4 with an RBI. For East Prospect, Dan Marano went 2 for 3, Anthony Torreullas went 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI, Ben Achenbach went 2 for 3 with a run scored, Matt Shatto doubled and Hunter McVey threw a complete game, striking out eight and walking four. Conrads is 8-12.
Windsor 10, Conrads 5: At Windsor, Chris Liggett led the home team to the victory by belting two doubles to go with two RBIs. Also for Windsor, Cole Delp went 3 for 3 with a double, Camden Gipe had a double and two RBIs, Brandon White and Jesse Mowery each had two RBIs and Tyler Myers threw a complete game on the mound, striking out six and walking four. For Conrads, Xavier Bonilla homered and doubled with two RBIs, while Josh Knaub went 2 for 4 and Brad Church doubled. Windsor is 6-16.
Stewartstown 4, Windsor 1: At Windsor, Briar Robinson paced the visitors by going 3 for 4, including a double. Also for Stewartstown, Craig Martin went 2 for 4, Marcus Stevenson doubled and pitchers Brandon Jones and Jordan Lozzi combined for nine strikeouts and allowed just four hits. For Windsor, Matt Robinson went 2 for 4.
