Daryl Harang’s two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth broke a 2-2 tie and gave Stoverstown an early-season 4-2 victory over visiting Jefferson on Tuesday in Central League baseball action.
Harang also pitched five innings as Stoverstown’s starter, striking out five, before giving way to eventual winning pitcher Anthony Lippy. Austin Botts had a two-run double for Stoverstown in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 2-2. Jefferson scored both of its runs in the top of the first. Scott Trail and Steve Gentile each had two-hit performances for Jefferson.
Manchester 3, Dillsburg 0: At Manchester, Jason Kelly and Mike Houseal combined to throw a one-hit shutout for the home team. Kelly threw five innings, striking out five and walking one, while Houseal threw the final two frames. Logan Allison led the home team, going 2 for 3, including a double, with one run scored.
Conrads 10, York Township 2: At York Township, Glen Dietrich's three-run homer in the top of the third powered the visitors to the victory. Also for Conrads, Jackson Marshall went 2 for 3, including a double, Justin Berkstresser went 2 for 4 and Xavier Bonilla went 2 for 5. For the home team, Nick Schuler went 2 for 2.
Jacobus 9, Stewartstown 4: At Jacobus, Joel Buchko led the home team by going 3 for 4, including a double. Also for Jacobus, Anthony Ferrell went 3 for 5 with two RBIs, while Austin Calaman went 2 for 4, including a double. For Stewartstown, Marcus Stevenson went 4 for 4, including a double, with three RBIs.
Hallam 4, Red Lion 0: At Hallam, the home side needed just three hits to muster the victory. Alex Tucci pitched a complete game for Hallam, striking out 10. Brian Crumbling had an RBI single in the bottom of the second, the only run Hallam scored on a base hit. Red Lion finished with just two hits.
