Former Messiah College baseball standout Chris Heisey signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Heisey, 30, will be reunited with Manager Dusty Baker, who coached Heisey when he broke into the majors with the Cincinnati Reds.
Heisey is projected to battle for the fourth outfielder spot.
He’s played in 576 major league games for the Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers, batting .245 with 52 homers and 156 RBIs in 1,381 at-bats.
He graduated from Donegal High School in Lancaster County.
