GOLF: Williamsport man earns $2,000 top prize for winning York Open at Royal Manchester
- Jordan Eck of Williamsport Country Club won the York Open golf tournament at Royal Manchester.
- Eck earned $2,000 for his victory. He had rounds of 67 and 71 for a 6-under-par 138 total.
- David Hilgers of Hershey Country Club was second at 140 on rounds of 72 and 68.
Jordan Eck of Williamsport Country Club took home the $2,000 top prize from the York Open golf tournament on Monday at Royal Manchester Golf Links.
Eck finished with a two-round total of 6-under-par 138 on rounds of 67 and 71 on the par-72 layout in northeastern York County.
Eck finished two shots ahead of David Hilgers of Hershey Country Club, who had rounds of 72 and 68.
David Denlinger of Lancaster Country Club and Matthew Hardman of the Links at Gettysburg tied for third at 143. Denlinger had rounds of 72 and 71, while Hardman had rounds of 74 and 69.
Terry Hertzog of Country Club of York was in a four-way tie for fifth at even-par 144 with Anthony Guidici of Indian Valley Country Club, Braden Shattuck of Concord Country Club and Raymond Sheedy of Greystone. Sheedy was the 2017 York County Amateur champion.
Among other local finishers were:
Scott Dobak of Regents' Glen Country Club, who tied for 11th at 149 on rounds of 69 and 80.
Bob Ruby of Honey Run, who was 13th at 152 on rounds of 75 and 77. Ruby won the York Open Senior Division title on Saturday.
Dustin Wallis of York, who tied for 14th at 153 on rounds of 77 and 76.
Dylan Reichard of Cool Creek, who tied for 18th at 155 on rounds of 77 and 78.
Jamie Gylan of Royal Manchester, who was 22nd at 158 on rounds of 75 and 83.
The tournament was open to both amateurs and professionals.
Blair has ace at Briarwood East: Ron Blair had a hole-in-one on Monday at Briarwood East Golf Course.
Blair used a 6-iron to ace the 124-yard 14th hole.
