Bob Ruby has been on a roll for the past few weeks on the golf course.

In started when the Royal Manchester player helped the York County team to a 12.5-11.5 victory over Lancaster County in the War of the Roses tournament on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23. Ruby earned a pair of points in that event.

The following weekend, Ruby claimed the York County Amateur Golf Association Senior Championship with a 4-under-par 66 at Grandview Golf Club, winning by three shots over Don Dimoff and five shots over Rod Crumbling. Dennis Lankford shot 72 for fourth and Scott Knouse fired a 73 for fifth.

Bruce Smith won the YCAGA Senior Net Division at 67.

Then this past Saturday, Ruby won the York Open Senior Championship at Royal Manchester with an 8-under 64. Quail Valley's John Howson took second at 69, followed by Dimoff at 71. The top five was rounded out by Lankford at 72 and Knouse at 74.

The first round of the York Open was then completed on Sunday, with Jordan Eck of Williamsport Country Club in the lead at 5-under 67. Scott Dobak of Regents' Glen Country Club was second at 69, followed by Raymond Sheedy of Greystone at 70 and Braden Shattuck of Concord Country Club at 71. There was a five-way tie for fifth at 72, including the Country Club of York's Terry Hertzog.

The York Open is scheduled to conclude Monday.
