Bill Brenner tops Doug Bacon in final to claim his 25th Briarwood East Club Championship
Bill Brenner recently won his 25th Briarwood East Club Championship.
Brenner captured the crown in a 36-hole, match-play event vs. Doug Bacon, 2&1.
Brenner was up three holes after 18 holes and six up after 29 holes before Bacon staged a late comeback, only to fall short.
Brenner now owns 31 combined club championships at Briarwood, including both the East and West courses.
In addition, Brenner owns six York County Amateur championships in a standout area amateur career that stretches back into the 1970s.
Brenner defeated Marty Trimmer 2-up in the Briarwood semifinals, while Bacon downed Kurt Rohrbaugh, 3&2, in the other semifinal.
