LOCAL GOLF: Michael DeRose earns third York County Junior Golf Association win of summer
- The York County Junior Golf Association held a tournament on Monday at Hanover Country Club.
- Michael DeRose earned his third Boys' 15-18 Blue Division crown with a 77.
- Gavin Harvey won the 15-18 White Division with a 74, which was the day's low score.
Michael DeRose has done it again.

DeRose picked up his third win of the summer in the York County Junior Golf Association Boys' 15-18 Blue Division on Monday at Hanover Country Club in Abbottstown.
DeRose fired a 6-over-par 77 to earn the victory. DeRose was awarded the triumph after another golfer, who finished ahead of DeRose, was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard.
Logan Snyder took second at 78, while Justin Gruver was third at 80.
In the season-long YCJGA Cup point standings, DeRose leads the 15-18 Blue Division at 84, followed by Andrew Roberts (56) and Nicholas Hooper (47).
Cailey Roman picked up her second YCJGA Girls' Division win at HCC with an 81. Ella Moores took second at 93, while Taylor Hicks finished third at 94. Hicks leads the Girls' Division point standings at 88, followed by Roman at 70 and Lillian McNally at 62.
Gavin Harvey collected the low score of the day with a 74 to win the 15-18 White Division. It was his second victory of the season. Cole Sevick and Julianne Lee both shot 76s, but Sevick took second on a match of cards, while Lee settled for third. Alex Gekas is the White Division point leader at 83, followed by Harvey at 54 and Jordan Staub at 50.
Colin Vineberg grabbed his fourth-straight YCJGA Boys' 14-and-Under Division crown with a 79. Trevor Snyder was one shot back in second. Caden Blanchette was third at 88. Snyder leads the 14-and-Under point standings at 78, with Vineberg at 75. Jesse Strine is third at 53.
After finishing in the top three for the first four YCJGA events this season, Mason Tucker broke through for his initial first-place finish in the Nine-Hole Division. Tucker fired a 43. Tyler Anderson followed at 44, while Alexander Beckley was third at 45. Beckley is the Nine-Hole Division point leader at 93, followed by Tucker at 73 and Lawson Leeper at 58.
The YCJGA season continues next Monday at Cool Creek Golf Club near Wrightsville.

GOLF NOTES
Hill takes Briarwood West Senior title: Keith Hill fired a 5-under-par 65 recently to win the Briarwood West Senior Club Championship.
Hill finished three shots ahead of second-place Ed Malehorn. Troy Jesko was third at 69.
Hill also finished first net in the 50-59 age group with a 58. Chris Grove was second at 63 net, followed by Jesko at 65.
Dean Waltimyer was first net in the 60-69 division at 63, followed by Al Hufnagle and Jim Lippy, both at 65.
In the 70-and-over division, Mike Hombach took first net at 66, followed by Ron Mahanes at 70. Bill Brenner was third at 71.
Sentz has ace at Briarwood East: York's Matthew Sentz had a hole-in-one recently at Briarwood East Golf Course.
He used a 7-iron to ace the 152-yard 14th hole.
