Country Club of York tennis event hopes to raise $50,000 to support opioid awareness

The Country Club of York announced Monday that it will play host to the fourth annual Charity Classic mixed-doubles tennis tournament on Friday and Saturday, July 14 and 15.

This summer's event will support opioid awareness in the York community. The primary sponsor is UPMC Pinnacle — UPMC Health Care.

According to a news release, the goal of the tournament is to raise $50,000.

The defending champions, Punch Maleka, a former member of  South Africa’s Davis Cup team, and Delia Sescioreanu will return to defend their title.
