For the first time, the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau will play host to the American Junior Golf Association Junior All-Star event.
The tournament will bring youngsters and their families from around the world to York. The YCCVB estimates the event will bring $155,232 in increased economic impact to the county.
The tournament, which includes 51 boys and 27 girls between the ages of 12 and 15 — some traveling internationally and some traveling across the U.S. — is slated for Friday- Sunday, April 27-29, at Out Door Country Club in Manchester Township.
The Country Inn and Suites by Carlson York is serving as the host hotel. The York Indoor Golf & Training Center will also be available to players and their families during their stay.
During the tournament, TaylorMade-adidas Golf Live Scoring will be available at the tournament website.
On social media, the hashtags #RoadToReynolds and #JASYork will be used.
The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Braselton, Georgia.
A large number of former AJGA competitors are now competing on the PGA or LPGA tours, including: Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Tiger Woods, Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Stacy Lewis, Brittany Lincicome, Inbee Park and Morgan Pressel.
Ace at Briarwood: Albert Hoke had a hole-in-one on Wednesday at Briarwood East. He used a 5-hybrid to ace the 129-yard 14th hole. It was witnessed by Gary Peterson.
