Mike Spangler leads a field of 52 bowlers after 12 games of qualifying for the Bud Light York County Match Play Championship this weekend.

Spangler, the 2016 champion, tallied 3,003 pins for a 47-pin lead over second-place Josh Coleman. The top 12 bowlers advanced to match play. East Lincoln Lanes hosts six games of match play at 2 p.m., Saturday, while South Hanover Lanes hosts six games of match play at 10 a.m., Sunday.

Spangler entered Sunday's qualifying session at Colony Park Lanes North in second place. He took over the lead by averaging 251 for six games. He rolled games of 262, 227, 239, 290, 254 and 237.

Spangler is one of five former champs to make the match play finals. The others are Adam Baer, Steve Carbaugh, Greg Bruff and Jerred Poff.
