Athletes will lace up their skates this weekend at the York Ice Arena for the 31st annual Pennsylvania Skating Championships.

The event is organized by Keystone State Games, Inc., and Premier Amateur Sports, LLC, in cooperation with the White Rose Figure Skating Club. The Olympic-style competition is a qualifying event for the 2019 State Games of America.

Skating will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18, opening the rink to nearly 350 male and female skaters from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C. and more locations.

The event is estimated to generate $501,000 in economic impact for York County, according to the York County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
