York mother-daughter doubles tennis team earns another national championship

The York mother-daughter team of Dr. Marsha Bornt-Davis and Lisa Bornt-Davis has won another national tennis championship.

Dr. Marsha Bornt-Davis, left, and her daughter, Lisa Bornt-Davis, have won two national mother-daughter titles this year.

They teamed up to capture the National United States Tennis Association Super Senior Mother-Daughter Clay Court Doubles Championship in Naples, Florida.

The Yorkers are No. 1 in the USTA mother-daughter super senior national rankings with 2,780 points. The second-place team has 2040 points.

The local team won all three of their matches in straight sets: 6-4,6-4 in the first roiund, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round and 6-4, 6-4 in the finals.

Earlier this year, the Bornt-Davis team won the National USTA Super Senior Mother-Daughter Grass Court Championships in Massachusetts.
