USA Softball will bring its Fast-Pitch Girls' 16-Under Class A Eastern Nationals to York County this week, with five days of action on tap at the Memorial Park Softball Complex.

Twenty teams from across the mid-Atlantic region will compete in the tournament, which runs Wednesday through Sunday. The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau expects more than 600 out-of-state athletes, coaches and spectators to attend the event. The YCCVB estimates the event will produce about $700,000 in economic benefits to the area.
York County has hosted USA Softball events every year for more than a decade.
“Hosting youth sports offers the greatest return on investment, considering the compounding economic potential for our community,” said Anne Druck, president of the YCCVB, in a news release. “Youth athletes have the greatest opportunities to return as visitors, students and residents, ensuring York County’s vitality for years to come.”
