Women's York County Amateur Golf Association tournament for Cool Creek


Cool Creek Golf Club in Wrightsville will play host to the Women's York County Amateur Golf Association's annual championship from June 20-22.

The event is a three-day, match-play tournament.

Amy Kennedy won the 2016 title by claiming a 2&1 victory against WYCAGA legend Connie Shorb at Out Door Country Club.

It marked Kennedy's third straight tile and her eighth overall. Kennedy has also won four of the past five crowns.

Shorb holds the record with 31 career championships.


Kelbaugh cards an ace: Dan Kelbaugh recently scored a hole-in-one while playing at Out Door Country Club.

Kelbaugh aced the 177-yard second hole using a 6-iron. The feat was witnessed by Bob Coons.

Ace recorded on No. 8 at Briarwood East: Towson’s Ted Kaelber had a hole-in-one Thursday at Briarwood East Golf Club.

Kaelber used a 3-hybrid to ace the 146-yard eighth hole. It was witnessed by Lenn Iold, Frank Bolden and Ted Burns.
