Some of the state’s top young bowlers will be in York County this weekend for the Pennsylvania State United States Bowling Congress Pepsi Youth Championships.
The event is returning to the county for the third time in the past 10 years.
Suburban Bowlerama will play host to the event on Saturday and Sunday. It's expected to bring as many as 600 participants, ranging in age from 8 to 20 years old. The York County Convention and Visitors Bureau projects the event will generate up to $167,000 in economic benefits for the community. York County also hosted the event in 2015 and 2008.
The event will feature a scratch singles event and a handicap scholarship singles tournament. Both boys and girls will compete in the tournaments.
The YCCVB’s Sport York program helped to lure the event to the county.
