Pa. Golden Gloves champ Antwoine Dorm Jr. to be honored


Pennsylvania Golden Gloves champion Antwoine Dorm Jr. will be recognized by York Mayor C. Kim Bracey at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Dorm is a sixth-grade student at McKinley K-8, 600 Manor St., in York. The event to honor him will take place at his school.

York's Antwoine Dorm Jr. has returned form a boxing tournament in Missouri with a championship.

Dorm is ranked No. 3 in the United States and No. 7 in the world in his division. He is trained by his father, Antwoine Dorm Sr., at Stick-N-Move Boxing at 284 W. Market St. in York.

"It is an honor to recognize and highlight our youth in the community, that are not only making a difference locally, but on the international level," Bracey said in a news release. "Antwoine's hard work and diligence is admirable and highlights that our young people in the City of York have much to offer not only our community, but the nation."
