York Dispatch's Bowler of the Week: New Oxford's Jerry Livingston
Bowler: Jerry Livingston, 66, of New Oxford.
Latest bowling accomplishment: Rolled his first career 300 at Hanover Bowling Centre.
I started bowling: At Clearview Lanes in 1968.
Bowlers I have learned the most from: Clarence Williams and Steve Selby.
Part of my game I'm working on improving: Reading the lane conditions.
Best bowling advice I ever received: Learn to repeat your shots and develop a routine
Most difficult part about bowling is: Staying in a rhythm. That's tough to do when you only bowl one night a week.
Most non-bowlers don't realize: How tough the sport is; most think it's easy until they try it.
Advice I would give someone just starting to bowl: Take lessons from a qualified instructor and get a ball drilled to suit your game.
PBA bowler I enjoyed watching: Earl Anthony.
Future goals: Roll another 300 and possibly an 800 series.
Note: The 78th Annual Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Championships will be held April 1 through June 18. The team event will be held at Jay Lanes in Douglassville, while the minor events will be held at Bowl-O-Rama in Reading. Entry fees are $125 for team, $50 for doubles, $25 for singles and an optional $7 for all-events.
